Byodoin Phoenix Hall

Kyoto, Japan

Phoenix Hall was erected in 1053, and recently finished the large scale repair of Heisei-era from 2012 to 2014.
This repair covered the replacement of roofing tiles, painting of pillars and walls and recover of the gold foil of phoenix sculptures and Hoju, a kind of religiously precious bead on the roofs.
※Currently, the lighting of this building have been renovated.
