HSL8 Shanghai - a luxury shopping mall in Shanghai

Shanghai, China

In the heart of Shanghai French Concession, in an historical context made of embassy buildings and old gardens, a building of 50.000 sqm is the opportunity to rethink the relationship between contemporary design and history in the Chinese city. Four levels of luxury shopping mall are enriched by creative offices, art galleries, hospitality and events and f&b spaces. The project aims to create a city within the city where a complex system of squares, gardens and pedestrian paths are interlaced. Preexisting old buildings are at the side of contemporary architecture in a surprising sequence of old and modern spaces.
