Extension apartment house Dreilinden

Luzern, Switzerland

The apartment house Dreilinden 22 was built in 1938 as a detached building at the flank of a hill over the famous Hofchurch with orientation to the lake.
Supplemental to adding another storey, there was created a new layer with balconies, loggias and conservatories on the south side.
This outside space was missed at the old building and now it is an important design element for the new project. The buttress is spanning from the street Dreilinden to the spatial opening of the Kapuzinerweg in the space of the building area.
The building was also energy-efficient renovated.
