Zeisehof

The Zeisehof is centrally located in Hamburg-Ottensen – a vibrant district, whose special atmosphere is characterised by the varied urban contrasts and its history as a significant industrial location in Northern Germany. We responded to this dynamic location with a building that is defined by its modest architecture, carefully blending in with the lively context without fading into the background. Instead, it naturally takes its place with powerful calmness and straight elegance. The clear architectural vocabulary, the timeless quality of the material selection and the harmoniously structured façade make strong references to the history of the site and reinterpret the factory architecture of the adjoining Zeisehallen in a distinctive fashion. The focus of the building is the central atrium, which is covered by a foil cushion roof supported by a curved, laminated wooden structure.
