“Make the most of the location.”
As a symbol to guide the growth of the company and the health of its employees, we aim to create an architecture that maximizes the view of Sakurajima and its energy in front of the building.

Structural plan that does not obstruct the view.”
On the glass side, only thin columns of Φ355.6 are placed at a pitch of 3.3m, and fire-resistant paint is used.
The aim was to make the building as unobtrusive as possible. The office space is pillar-less, with beams in only one direction.
In-wall dampers were installed throughout to improve earthquake resistance, and checkered dampers were used on the first and second floors to enhance the design.

Facade design combines transparency and thermal environment design.”
Balconies and original aluminum castings are installed outside the transparent glass surfaces to enjoy the view and to cut off solar radiation. The goal was to create an office space that prevents direct sunlight from entering. The balcony is also useful in terms of maintenance, as the area is prone to ash fall.

“Expression of the food business
The building aims to express the healthy appearance of a trading company specializing in wholesale food ingredients that “expands the world of flavors.

Selection of materials that lead to food.
Tiles made from uncolored soil and wood were used extensively to express respect for the nature that produces food.

Sense of incompleteness and irregularity
We tried to preserve a sense of irregular rhythm and handiwork rather than unity and completion in the interior spaces. This is reflected in the ceiling, which is not covered in the office space because it tends to create a sense of uniformity, in the staircase, which is easily raised and lowered to encourage communication among employees, and in the corridors, where each floor has its own theme color to highlight the differences between them.

Change and Growth
As a company that handles 100,000 different foodstuffs, we have provided a wealth of display facilities to communicate our products both inside and outside the company. As the products on display change, the space will also undergo a fresh transformation. As the company grows, this building will also change and grow.

Concept 3] “Creating the joy of working”.
Each floor is given a different theme and atmosphere to express the head office where various departments gather.
Visualize the dynamism that is typical of Nishihara Shokai.

Lighting plan, furniture selection.”
Without a ceiling, original lighting designs were developed, such as the glowing membrane on the 2nd floor and geometric lines on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. In particular, the shining mesh in the 7th floor hall is a reflection of the shimmering waves of Kinko Bay below. These lights also spread to the surrounding environment through the transparent facade. The zoning of the office space and the corresponding furniture selection were also designed to give each floor its own atmosphere in terms of materials and colors.

Signage System
The head office building was named “CORE,” meaning “the center,” and used for both indoor and outdoor signage. Original graphic design was used for everything from the building name to pictograms and floor signs. The pictograms feature foodstuff motifs, and a food-related saying is displayed near the door in multiple languages. The theme of food was used in every detail.
