Studio Lotus is multi-disciplinary design practice founded in 2002—23years on, it is one of the most path-breaking architectural firms in India, with Ambrish Arora, Sidhartha Talwar, Ankur Choksi, Asha Sairam and Harsh Vardhan at the helm as Principals.

Fostered with a culture of learning and intra-preneurship, the work of the practice is grounded on the principles of Conscious Design, an approach that celebrates local resources, cultural influences, an inclusive process and a keen attention to detail. Studio Lotus aspires to craft spaces that address the emerging future of work, leisure and living; be it master plans, buildings or interiors, the practice’s process focuses on innovation that enrichestheir clients’ lives and businesses, adding value to all it touches.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, Studio Lotus’ team of over 100 people combines distinct strengths over multiple domains to shape built work that isat the cutting edge of design thinking. The design process looks at sustainability through the multiple lenses of cultural, social and environmental impact. It is underpinned by an active engagement in integrating localised skills and resources with state-of-the-art materials and technologies.

Some of the studio’s most significant projects include an upcoming museum complex for the Aga Khan Trust for Culture at the Qutb Shahi Gardens in Hyderabad; RAAS Hotels—in Jodhpur, Kangra and Lake Chhatrasagar; Krushi Bhawan in Odisha; high-rise residential and commercial developments for the Max Group; the Royal Enfield’s headquarters in Chennai; the headquarters of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Bhubaneswar; the flagship store & museum-gallery for Sunita Shekhawat; Taj Taal Kutir in Kolkata and three marquee projects within the Godrej Trees project in Vikhroli, Mumbai. Ongoing projects include a Visitor Centre within Jodhpur’s Mehrangarh Fort precinct, high-rise serviced apartments at Worli Sea Face for SD Corp, adaptive reuse of Lakshmi Millsin Coimbatoreand several pan-India hospitality commissions, including those for the Taj & Oberoi Groups of Hotels.

Studio Lotus’s portfolio has been Internationally recognized—winning, among others: inclusion in Archello’s list of the World’s Top 100 Architectural Firms, 2024,The PLAN Awardfor Retail, World Holiday Building of the year at the World Architecture Festival, the Creative Re-Use category at INSIDE Awards, the DOMUS Italia Award for Restoration and Adaptive Reuse, the Grand Jury Prize at the Design for Asia Award, the Prix Versailles Special Prize for Restaurant Interiors, making India’s AD 100 list for 12consecutive years, and a nomination in the Aga Khan Awards cycle 2013.
